Shamokin Football 1955 Season

PA Football News lists Shamokin 7-4 in 1955 and does not name a coach. This is Shamokin High School, before the Shamokin Area Indians.

The same site's feature on Coal Township's 1955 Eastern Conference champions says Coal beat Shamokin 14-12 and names Don Carsto as Shamokin's star. That article is about Coal Township. It is not a Shamokin game log.

The Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame says Joe Thompson was all-Keystone League as an end and a linebacker in 1955 and 1956 and earned three football letters at Shamokin High School. The page says he graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1957 and also says he played at Shamokin High School. His Bloomsburg seasons are on the alumni page.
