Head coach Dan Foor. District 4 Class 3A champion; PIAA Class AAA quarterfinalist

PA Football News lists Shamokin 6-8 in 2011 with Dan Foor as head coach and a league record of 3-7. District IV lists Shamokin as the Class 3A champion for the 2011-12 school year. Mount Carmel is the Class 2A champion on that same row.

GantNews, previewing the state opener, said Shamokin was 5-7 and had reached the playoffs after a 21-20 win over Milton the week before. The Republican Herald's game story, from DuBois on Nov. 25, says Shamokin beat Clearfield 27-26 in overtime in the PIAA Class AAA first round and was 6-7 after that win. The Indians trailed by 13 in the fourth quarter. Tucker Yost threw for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Draven Miller scored from 15 yards in overtime. Clearfield's two-point try in overtime missed.

The PIAA results book has that game at E.J. Mansell Stadium in DuBois, Shamokin 27, Clearfield 26, overtime, and the quarterfinal on Dec. 2 at The Silver Bowl: Allentown Central Catholic 56, Shamokin 14. A win and then that loss takes the Republican Herald's 6-7 to the 6-8 on the PA Football News line.
