Shamokin Football 2026 Season

Through Oct. 16, Shamokin is 8-0 and 5-0 in the Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference Division I. The Aug. 22 meeting at North Pocono was a scrimmage and is not in the record. Home games are at Kemp Memorial Stadium.

The News-Item reported that the Oct. 9 win at Williamsport clinched a third straight PHAC Division I title. The PHAC scoreboard has that game 48-13. The Sun-Gazette headline the same night read 48-14. District 4's Oct. 15 Class 4A power ratings had Shamokin first.

EasternPAFootball's Aug. 25 preview listed Marc Persing as head coach and Logan Steele, class of 2027, as the returning starting quarterback, a Wake Forest commit, and a first-team all-state player on offense and defense. On3 lists a Wake Forest commitment dated April 8, 2026, at safety, 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds, from Shamokin Area in Coal Township. He is a current player, not an alumnus.

MaxPreps season leaders on the team page, updated Oct. 20, 2026, were Colin Steinhart at 39.4 receiving yards a game, Noah Ringes at 115.0 rushing yards a game and 7.4 tackles a game, Logan Steele with 18 total touchdowns and 830 passing yards, Robert Whitmer with 3.0 sacks, and Brayden Cavanaugh with 4 interceptions. The standings page that day listed Steele at 842 rushing yards and 1,707 total yards, and Steinhart at 2,282 kickoff yards. Those are MaxPreps season figures, not a school record book.

A public YouTube highlight of a 2026 game was not found. MaxPreps still lists only the Sept. 4 highlights at Danville for 2026-27, and that video library was last updated Sept. 6. NFHS lists a Danville-published highlights clip from that night and full-game replays of the Aug. 28 game at Pottsville and the Sept. 4 game at Danville. Blue Mountain is Oct. 23. Mount Carmel Area is Oct. 30 at Kemp Memorial Stadium.
